Update

Sorry for the lack of posts. Time seems to be flying at the moment and I seem to start various entries that never get finished. Anyways, here's a summary of what I've been up to recently.

Passed my supp exam - This was back before Christmas, but thanks for the prayers. I was pretty upset after the exam. I found the examiners really rude. They were chatting to each other during my exam, one actually left while I was still treating the patient during my exam and came back with 2 min left just when I had finished. The least they can do if they make me redo the exam is to pay attention. Sheesh.

Christmas - I'm thankful for everyone who invited me to Christmas dinners, the Tan family, OCFers, and the Graieg family. So blessed! On Christmas day, I went to service at church in the morning, then to the beach with a couple friends who also didn't have family around in Perth. Check out the sand castle we made =) It definitely made it easier to spend Christmas away from home and family having people around to keep me busy.

New Year's Eve - Had a quiet night at my classmate's house, hanging out. We were watching a movie so we actually missed the countdown. Oops, missed the countdown 2 years in a row now.

Sandboarding - Well, it's definitely not snowboarding! I went up north to the sand dunes to try this a couple weeks ago. We didn't know we were supposed to bring wax to rub on the bottom of the board, so 3 of the boards were too sticky and I could basically stand on them without moving at all. I tried turning, but didn't have any luck and had to go straight down. The trek up the dunes after going down was also quite the killer. Forget hills to train for power, people should try sand dunes!

Puppy Sitting Jarrah - It was my first experience looking after a dog over the holidays. He threw up on me, peed on our bean bag chair, chewed a number of holes in the couches out back, chewed up our broom stick, and left me with a number of small scars from him chewing on me. However, all in all, even though I found him annoying at times, I have to say the little rugrat grew on me. He's down south in Margaret River at the moment and the house feels so quiet without his little paws running around the house. I think I prefer being the ''aunt" though so I'm not responsible for disciplining him and making sure he gets enough exercise.

Musculo Outpatient Prac - I'm halfway through my prac now. It's been tiring, but a very good learning experience and environment. My supervisor and 5 other classmates are all very supportive so it feels like a team atmosphere. I've seen a number of ACL reconstruction patients and other knee problems so I'm pretty confidant treating knees right now. I have yet to see a patient with a neck problem and I've only had one patient with a shoulder problem so I'm still trying to consolidate everything I'm supposed to do for those conditions - how to diagnose, treatment progressions, etc. On another note, this prac has been educational to find out more about myself. We have a tutorial every morning, during which I've found out that I'm hyperreflexive and I have a stiff neck @_@.

Quarter of Century - It turns out I have the same bday as my supervisor, so we had cake and sparklers during morning tea at the clinic. At night, I went for dinner at an Italian restaurant with my housemates as well as KP's inlaws who were visiting from Vancouver and then gelato for dessert afterwards. A special thanks for the bday wishes, cards, and gifts. SS - thanks for the RINGOLOS!!!! =D

Salsa Lessons - There's a place here that has free salsa lessons for beginners on Thursday nights. I've gone for a couple of weeks now. I haven't exactly danced much since ballroom dancing lessons in Waterloo so I can't say I'm much of dancer, but it's fun and good company. =)
