On Weather

I've noticed that Ontarians (Torontonians and Waterlooians?) seem to be quite adaptable to weather. This has been highlighted during my stay in Perth, where there seems to be a small window of what's considered comfortable here. Typically, I've heard people describe temperatures less than 20-25C as being cold, while greather than 30-35C is considered as hot. In contrast (perhaps this may be due to a skewed memory) but I seem to remember that cold would be considered for temperatures below 0C and freezing was when it was below -10C or -20C. For me, well I think I now consider greather than 35C hot, with it becoming very uncomfortable at 40C. As for cold, well it's been awhile. Perhaps I'll freeze when I go back to Vancouver... in less than 20C weather...

Ontarians have to experience temperatures at both extremes.

-10 in winters
+40 in summers

the mild weather in seattle/vancouver has made me temperature sensitive. I felt cold in Toronto, and it wasn't even freezing yet. Meanwhile, people here said ~5-10 was cold, i thought it was still warm enough not to need a jacket.

The past few days in Waterloo, with wind chill, have been -30 :p Hehe. My first frosty nostrils. But I've survived... so far :) It's supposed to get slightly warmer, thankfully, and I'll definitely be glad to go back to Vancouver winters in a couple years!

haha, yah, weather is so subjective! I came back from my trip to Vegas and I thought Vancouver was cold...which really wasn't...just that I wasn't used to it. hehe
