Northam is a lovely town, with one main street and one set of traffic lights. It boasts the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in WA and is home to the only white swans in this state as well. Located near in the Avon Valley beside the river, there are breathtaking views and plenty of sunshine. Oh, and there's also a duck that's the size of a goose. I'm wondering if it's a different breed? All in all, a quiet little town that is somewhat similar to the movie Cars with a population of about 3500 people. Anyone interested in visiting? Perhaps free accomodation will persuade someone? It's a great escape from the busy city life, away from the distraction of internet and ringing mobiles so you can get back to the peace and quiet of the days of old. =) ...how's my marketing skills?
I feel a little disconnected out here. I have dodgey mobile coverage inside my flat, but I've discovered that I can get reception if I stand outside on the back patio. I have to pay $1.10/hr for internet at the library, which is only open late till 8pm on Tues/Thurs. It's like travelling back in time. I'm staying in a flat with 3 bedrooms, but so far I'm the only one here. Too bad I don't have any DVD's to watch on my laptop. I suppose I could always be productive and finish my last few assignments.
My supervisor's and the other workers at the hospital have been great. It looks like I'll have a chance to do a bit of Paeds, some Gerontology, take a couple Women's health post-natal classes, and Musculo-outpatients to round it off. Looking forward to a great placement.
