The end of another chapter is drawing to a close. It's almost surreal that I've finished. For 2.5 years, it was plodding on and working towards this goal and now that I've finally made it I feel relieved that I've survived, but at the same time maybe it hasn't registered yet. It's a bit strange not knowing what's in the future. The past 2.5 years were literally planned out for me. I was told what I'd be learning, given my class schedule, told when my holidays were, given my exam schedule, told where to do my pracs and what I needed to do to get through. Now, well I suppose the options are quite limitless. A lot of people have asked if I prefer hospital or private practise, asking me where I'm going, what I'll be doing. To be honest, I haven't had time to think too far ahead. Most of my energy has been drained getting to the point so at the moment I'm just looking forward to going home. In any case, it looks like I won't be able to write the written Canadian exam until November and it'll still take awhile to get my program accredited before I can start working so I have time to adjust and look for work once I get home.
Some random things I'll miss from Perth aside from the people and friends here which is a given:
-The sunshine, clear blue skies (as in no cloud in sight!) almost 365days a year, same with the stars in the clear sky in the evening
-The lovely beaches and the clean, swimmable water
-McDonald's fried apple pies (they haven't converted to the baked ones yet!)
-Gelares half price waffles on Tuesdays
-Tomato & Basil, and Sweet Chilli flavoured rice thins
-Flavoured iced coffee that you can buy in 1L, 2L at the grocery store
-Tomato and basil flavoured pretzels
-Living by Canning River and the bike paths
-Hungry Jack's Grilled Chicken Baguette
-The different wildlife: dolphins in the river, pelicans, black swans, and maybe even some of the birds like the cockatoos.. but not the annoying black crows that screech! I'd add 'roos, but you only see them when you go a bit further from the city
-Malaysian/Singaporean Hawker food from Taurus
-Watching and hearing about the AFL - the Eagles and the Dockers
-Hearing some Aussie terms that've grown on me: "ta", "bugger", "how ya going", "right-o", "reckon"
-Subi church evening service
-OCF and meeting ppl from different countries
-Freo and Subi markets

You're not going to believe it, but I only figured out what "ta" means a few weeks ago... despite living in Australia for 1.5 years. But then again, I'm the one who thought (in the) "arvo" was a place.
Haha, seriously? Well I don't feel so bad then, I think it took me one year before I figured ta out. I thought it meant bye - as in ta-ta. :P
